God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Numbers 23:19
God parted the Red Sea for Moses and the Israelites.
God delivered Daniel from the lions when King Darius threw him into the den.
God stood with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fire when King Nebuchadnezzar punished them for refusing to worship the golden idol.
When Abraham was commanded to sacrifice his son, God honored his obedience and provided a ram.
Life has a way of affecting our memory. When pressure builds and hardship lingers, we can suffer from spiritual amnesia. We forget who God is and what He has already done.
The same God who was present in every one of those moments walks with you through every trial you face. The same God who humbled Himself, entered humanity, and died for our sins is with you in every hardship and difficulty. You were made in His image and filled with His Spirit. You are wrapped in His grace and covered by His blood. His power lives within you and gives you the strength to endure.
Life can—and will—be hard. But in the midst of it all, never forget this truth: God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Daily Prayer
Lord, as I begin this week, I know I will face difficulties. When hardship arises, and I struggle to endure, help me lean fully on You. Remind me of all You did for the men throughout Scripture, and help me remember that You are—and always will be—the same God. What You did for them, You are more than able to do for me. You are marvelous, miraculous, and merciful. All glory, honor, and praise belong to You. Thank You for all You have done, all You are doing, and all You will do in my life. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.
Daily Challenge
Reject spiritual amnesia. Remember who God is and trust what He has promised.
