More times than not me being a “good person” has gotten me fugged over by a shit ball. But, I will still continue to do what I know is right and raise my son’s to be respectful, responsible, loving and loyal young men. This county and country is full of immoral people and being honest, it saddens me. But it’s not enough for me to turn my back on humanity. I see so many misguided people, afraid to self reflect and control their life. I’m not perfect, that was Jesus, but before anything in your life changes or gets better you have to look inward and start there. If you can’t do that then I believe you will not find growth. Realizing that I am in control of my decisions and the repercussions that come with them was the most monumental step for me and one I still strive to master. But once I began changing pieces of my existence, my existence began to purify. Mental pollution is hard to avoid. Say what you will, it’s extremely difficult for African American males in our country but that’s no reason to sit back and accept the circumstances. If you’re in a shit situation that seems inescapable, I promise, there has been someone in a worse spot, that has overcome all adversity and persevered. It seems like it’s to hard or, as a black man, you may feel like a sell out but nobody walking around down here has the power to judge you. If your situation is poisonous you would be an idiot to continue existing in a place of detriment. You, in my opinion, are also an idiot if you allow a company or boss to make you feel as if there’s no choice but to endure said detriment. You are in control of what brings joy to your being. If you aren’t willing to navigate to a place of greatness, that’s on you. Just don’t blame your sub par successes and multiple setbacks on your environment or the people in your environment. You make the choice to be shit. Yes, it can be taught, but if after learning you’ve been taught shit behavior, you don’t do what’s necessary to change said behavior. You must take responsibility for the tribulation you may face. As I said, I’m not perfect by any means, and I have no passion to pursue such an unattainable goal. My mother would want me to be great and spread as much love, positivity and knowledge as possible. I am a gifted person. If I don’t use what I have been blessed with to do something. If I just say, to hell with everyone I’m all about me. That would not be a behavior my mother or my savior Jesus Christ would be proud of. If you believe in God, I request you self reflect and think about things you can do to one, improve the poisonous situation or environment you are existing in. Two, work on a few behavioral ways to treat people better. Mommabro always told me to treat people how I want to be treated. I think a lot of us should be reminded of that daily.
